Amazing Kelly! Just this morning on my way to work I was thinking of you and wishing to see more pictures. When is the rainy season? And, was that letters on top of the roof of your school? One more question – will you be allowed to take pictures of your classroom or is that taboo?
I enjoy your blog so much!
Thanks, Ann! It really means so much to me to know that friends and family back home are reading – I love to have you all along on the journey. The rainy season starts in October – I am excited to see what it is like, but I have a feeling that after about a week or so I will be wishing for the dry again! The letters on the roof of my school stand for its name: MTsN 2 Paron. Paron is the town it is in, MTsN stands for a state-funded, middle school level madrasa (Muslim school), and the 2 means that it is the second one in the area (usually schools are ranked based on how “good” they are). I can absolutely take pictures of my classroom – the rules about taking pictures and publishing them on the internet are very lax here. Right now I have a bunch of pictures of the school I took when no students were there, but I hope to get some with students once we start back. Then I should have a post just about my school – keep an eye out for it! Again, thanks so much for reading, and keep the questions coming!
Many, many warm thoughts being sent your way – hope you are well!
